The Founding Story
Why south. Why caps. Why now.
Via Sud didn't start with a business plan, but with a feeling: that moment when you drive down a slow road heading south, window open, and everything gets a little warmer. I wanted to make that feeling wearable.
I'm based in Frankfurt, with a heart that points south. Between European clarity and Mediterranean warmth, the idea emerged for a brand that is quiet but stays — caps you wear for years and never have to explain. No loud logo, no throwaway trends. Just honest materials and restraint.
The first collection is now in sampling. Five caps, each named after a place or wind of the south. It's the beginning — and you're here early.

To personalise: replace this text with your real story — what connects you to the south, why caps, what quality means to you. The more personal, the stronger.

The first samples are on their way
The first milestone: the prototypes of the five SS26 styles go into sampling. Now we see whether crown, brim curve and fit hit the feeling we had in mind — unstructured, soft, "worn-in from day one".
With Cinque, the terracotta model that started it all, it comes down to nuance: half a shade more sun, a millimetre shorter brim. Details no one names, but everyone feels.

The search for the right twill
A cap is only as good as its fabric. We test washed cotton twills until the hand feels right: firm enough to hold shape, soft enough to feel familiar from day one. Then the colour family — terracotta, faded navy, stone, washed sky and olive.
Every colour is imagined sun-washed — not new, not loud, but as if it had already spent a summer in the south.

Brass that ages beautifully
For the closure we deliberately chose real brass over plastic — antique, polished or aged, depending on the style. It costs more and takes longer, but it ages with you instead of against you. That's the difference between "bought" and "worn".
